Welcome Welcome to Brookshire, Texas. Come
experience country living in a small town
that's
only about 30 miles outside of
Houston. It's close enough to all the
sports, business,
and cultural attractions
of the Houston metro area, while keeping the
beauty and serenity of country life. This small Waller County town has a lot of
offer even though it spans
only 3.5 square
miles. We have a diverse population of 3,450
(according to the 2000 U.S. census),
excellent schools (Royal
ISD),
low taxes, affordable housing, a
wealth of churches, and many other community
events and programs.

BROOKSHIRE BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT
YMCA
www.ymcahouston.org/brookshire
In July,
Brian Haines and Steve Pierson from the
Katy Family YMCA introduced themselves
to the Brookshire E.D.C. board with a
proposal to bring the YMCA to the
Brookshire/Pattison area. We are happy
to announce they are now here!
The Katy
Family YMCA is proud to be serving the
Brookshire/Pattison community with
exciting programs for all ages. The
City of Brookshire is providing free
facilities for their Dance, Health &
Wellness Exercise, and Tae Kwon Do
programs at the Brookshire Convention
Center, located at 4029 Fifth St. in
Brookshire. The
Youth Sports will be located at
Royal ISD.
(click

Dance /
Health and Wellness (click links for
PDF) programs includes classes for
Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz,
Pilates, Zumba Dance, Zumba Gold, Line
Dance and Yoga. First-time participants
may try a class free of charge.
Tae Kwon Do can increase
concentration, improve confidence,
reduce stress, and build stronger
muscles.
With
summer almost over, what a better way to
keep the kids involved this fall than
with the fall Youth Sports at the Y?
