Park Planner
The Brookshire Economic Development
Corporation (BEDC), a Type B economic
development corporation, is seeking a
qualified person or firm to serve as a
Park Planner Consultant. The BEDC is
led by seven future-minded local leaders
appointed by the Brookshire City
Council. The individual or firm will be
responsible for researching, analyzing
and interpreting park land use data and
trends; participating in the development
of design standards and requirements for
the City’s parks; ensuring that
functional use maintenance, aesthetics
and safety considerations are met. The
individual or firm will also prepare
construction specifications for park
planning activities; answer questions
from contractors on park construction
activities; assist in contract
administration, assist in preparing
contact forms and bonds; monitor
insurance requirements compliance as
well as review contract bids and oversee
contractors to ensure compliance with
approved design and planning standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS,
EDUCATION,
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited college or university with
major coursework in landscape
architecture,
planning or other related field is
required. Three years of responsible,
professional park planning experience.
The possession of a valid Class C Texas
driver’s license is required. A
landscape Architect’s license ,
irrigator’s license
or Certified Playground Safety Inspector
designation issued by the State of Texas
is preferred.

verification of all credentials and
